We anticipate this day all year long! Cheerleaders arrive in Honolulu and are greeted by our CheerHawaii personnel right at the baggage claim. They’ll help you get your bags and show you to our van or bus to be taken to the University of Hawaii. After checking in at the dorms, you’ll have free time to get settled in, meet your roommates, and meet the other campers.
Your CheerHawaii teams consist of student-athletes from around the country. Meet the collegiate head coaches and their assistants as you rotate between cheer, dance, and stunt instruction.
Time to play at one of the most recognized beaches in Hawaii! We’re teaming up with the Kailua Canoe Club to paddle outrigger canoes! Paddling, tanning, swimming, snacking, and even some stunting make for an amazing first full day in Hawaii.
Create a poster for your CheerHawaii team, swap your high school T-shirts, enjoy ice cream, and dance!
Definitely one of the more special times of the whole week. Learn about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and World War II by touring the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor’s Center and then pay your respects at the actual Memorial.
Our special speaker explains the importance of leadership and how you can step up to be a leader on your squad, in your high school, and throughout your life.
Learn first-hand about the Hawaiian culture by being taught a hula by a renown kumu hula—that’s “hula instructor” in Hawaiian.
The college coaches and their assistants are brought in to benefit YOU. They’ll give you great tips for working towards attending college and how to make their collegiate cheer squad. Take full advantage of asking them as many questions as you can.
The Swap Meet is famous for its abundance of Hawaiian gear and souvenirs. This is the shopping experience.
We go to one of the most famous surfing spots in the world—Ehukai Beach (or Pipeline Beach), to enjoy the sun, waves, and a delicious Hawaiian-style BBQ. Family and friends can purchase a ticket to join the BBQ festivities.
You’ll tour the Center by visiting the different islands of Polynesia such as Hawaii, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand, Tahiti, and Fiji. Watch shows, play games, or view exhibits of each island and their people. For more information about the Center, visit www.polynesia.com
We will enjoy a luau together, cheerleaders will perform the hula they learned for their families and friends, and then end the night watching the famous HA: Breath of Life Show.
We encourage camaraderie, rather than competition, as each team takes their performance to the mat. All family and friends are welcome to enjoy the show and see what your cheerleaders have learned throughout the week!
If you have time before your flight, shuttles will be available to take you to Waikiki Beach.
After a week of hard work and tons of fun, you’ll be saying goodbye to your CheerHawaii Ohana and new friends.
